Roger Zessin
FounderRoger's love for travel began in 1990 when he bought his first camera and set off on a life-changing adventure to Kenya. What started as a passion for photography soon grew into a lifelong curiosity about the world, its people, and the stories waiting to be discovered.
After exploring more than 50 countries over the past 30 years, Roger founded Soulful Escapes Club to share the kind of travel he loves most: small groups, authentic experiences, meaningful connections, and unforgettable moments.
From vineyard lunches and charming villages to wild landscapes and hidden gems, Roger believes the best adventures aren't about checking places off a list. They're about slowing down, staying curious, and enjoying the journey along the way.
Nicci Van Straaten
Travel CoordinatorBorn and raised in South Africa, Nicci's love for travel and adventure has taken her around the world, from moving to Canada in 2011 to now calling Texas home.
She has always been passionate about bringing people together and creating experiences that turn strangers into friends. With a background in entrepreneurship, event planning, and travel coordination, Nicci helps design journeys that are equal parts fun, discovery, and meaningful connection.
Her goal is simple: to make every Soulful Escapes Club adventure feel effortless, inspiring, and filled with moments you'll be talking about long after you return home.

Behind-the-scenes GuyIsrael's love for travel started at a young age and has only grown stronger with every journey. From family road trips to adventures across the globe with friends, some of his favorite memories have been made while exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.
With a background in multimedia marketing, filmmaking, and photography, Israel brings a creative eye to Soulful Escapes Club. He has a passion for finding beauty in everyday moments and capturing the experiences, connections, and memories that make each adventure unforgettable.
